Moving the view

You can use the panorama pane or Site Navigator to move the view in the main central pane smoothly to distant parts of the site or site design. For small movements, you may find the scroll bars adequate.

Both the panorama pane and Site Navigator show a miniature of the complete site with a view box representing the portion of the site currently in view, and both let you move the view by dragging the box. However, the panorama pane is an actual view, not just a picture of the view, so you can work with objects in it even if they aren't visible in the central pane. For example, you can drag a page in the panorama pane that is outside the central pane into a location in the central pane.

To move the view to another part of the site:

1 Do one of the following:

  • Show the panorama pane.
  • Choose Window > Site Navigator.

  • 2 Do one of the following:

  • Drag the view box to another part of the site or design. (The view in the central pane moves with the box.)
  • Select a file entirely outside the view box--that is, one that doesn't also appear inside the box. (The view in the central pane scrolls to include the file.)
